DIRECTIONS for Farragut Avenue/ Hastings-on-Hudson site:
From Saw Mill Parkway going North, take Farragut Avenue (Exit 13) by South County Trailway Parking Lot. Walk North on the South County Trailway about a quarter of a mile to meeting spot.
For people coming from the North on the Parkway, get off at Farragut Parkway then turn around and come back onto the parkway going North. Get in right lane and turn right immediately onto Farragut Avenue (Exit 13). Meet on the Trail just north of the parking lot.Vine-cuttings and river clean-ups are typically held October through May. These months are preferable for vine-cutting because there is less foliage which means easier access to the river. There is also a significant decrease in the risk of tick and poison ivy exposure. However, we are happy to arrange volunteer clean-ups or vine-cutting events throughout the year and are prepared to take necessary precautions against these summer-time obstacles.
If you would like to arrange an event call us at (914) 375-2151 or e-mail emily@groundworkhv.org.
